Help us understand the problem

If you’re reporting a bug, it helps to include:

  • Your iPhone or iPad model, iOS version, and JAM version (at the bottom of Settings).
  • What you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead.
  • For sound issues: your tempo, time signature and subdivision, plus whether you were using the speaker, wired headphones or Bluetooth.

A screenshot or short recording can help, but is optional. Please leave out personal or sensitive information. See our privacy policy for how support messages are handled.

Quick answers

Why can’t I hear the metronome?

Check your device’s media volume and JAM’s volume in Settings. Make sure your beats aren’t all muted and check which speaker or headphones your device is using. Then tap Start.

Why did playback stop after a call or disconnecting headphones?

JAM stops when audio is interrupted or headphones are disconnected. Once you’re ready, check the output and tap Start again.

What does BPM mean in 6/8, 9/8 and 12/8?

In compound time, JAM counts dotted-quarter beats: two in 6/8, three in 9/8 and four in 12/8. Eighth-note subdivision adds three clicks within each beat. In simple time, BPM counts quarter-note beats.

Does JAM work offline?

Yes. The metronome and saved presets work without an internet connection or an account. Emailing support and visiting this website need a connection.

Where are my saved presets?

Tap the bookmark icon on the main screen to save or recall a setup. Presets are stored on your device. They are not synced through a JAM account, and deleting the app removes its local settings and presets.
